If you know the path you walk is heading into inky woods,
ask a brave and loyal friend to walk along.
Choose a bold companion, one who leads without alarm,
one whose sureness gives you confidence to step into the maw.
Nose to ground, she’ll snuffle though the tangled overgrowth
and lead you, without worry, to the place you need to go.
She’ll sit beside you in the dark
and nudge you when you falter.
She’ll comfort you and calm your fears
and lead you through, to home.
If ever you must make a trek into dark wilderness,
ask a true and trusty friend to join you on the way.
